Jesus Prays, Pt 3 - John 17:20-26

We must pray for and pursue unity with fellow believers at all cost.

1) Unity is centered around the Father’s sending of Jesus. (20-21)

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

2) Unity is secured by the Father’s love for Jesus. (22-23)

“We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” 1 John 4:19-20

3) Unity culminates around the Father’s throne with Jesus. (24-26)

“I entreat Euodia…and Syntyche to agree in the Lord…who have labored side by side with me in the gospel…whose names are in the book of life.” Philippians 4:2-3
