What is Biblical Soul Care?
Are you struggling with an area of sin? Is someone else’s sin affecting you? Are you experiencing the consequences of foolish choices? Are you going through a life-altering trial? Or do you just need help and hope?
The church is called to come alongside one another during times of trial.
The church is called to come alongside one another during times of trial.
Biblical Soul Care is built to lovingly care for and help carry the burdens of people (Galatians 6:1-2; James 1:2-5). The purpose of Soul Care is to engage the Body of Christ to walk and support one another by encouraging the involvement of advocates and your connection to a small group whenever possible. Most importantly you can expect to be ministered towards our ultimate hope, Jesus Christ.
Levels of Soul Care:
Sunday Morning Worship Service
Sunday worship provides the broadest level of soul care, as God’s Word is proclaimed and can shape beliefs, identity, and direction for the entire church. It is primarily formative and preventative, establishing truth that fuels all other levels of care.
Small Group
Small groups are the frontline of relational soul care, where believers practice “one another” ministry through discussion, prayer, and accountability. They normalize everyday care by helping people apply Biblical truth in community and shared life.
Freedom Group
Freedom Group is a structured, intensive small group experience designed to address deeper struggles at the heart level, not just behavior. It bridges the gap between small groups and counseling by offering focused gospel-centered transformation in community.
Pastor/Elder Care
Pastoral care provides shepherd-led, short-term care for specific life challenges, offering wisdom, guidance, and spiritual direction. It often serves as a triage level, helping determine whether someone needs deeper or more structured care.
Biblical Counseling
Biblical counseling is a more formal, ongoing process where trained Biblical counselors apply Scripture to complex or persistent issues of the heart. Its goal is deep transformation by addressing beliefs, desires, and patterns through the gospel over time.
Intensive Counseling
Counseling Intensives are highly focused, multi-day counseling environments designed for complex, urgent, or deeply rooted issues. They accelerate progress by creating concentrated space for deep heart work and gospel-centered change.
