Why We Give
It is an act of worship of giving or tithing or offering our First and Best to the Lord through our:
- Stewardship: All we have belongs to the Lord (Psalm 24:1) so we contribute wisely (Matthew 24:14-30) and faithfully (Mal 3:8-10).
- Generosity: God gives to us generously of His Son (John 3:16) so we contribute sacrificially (2 Cor 9:10-15) and lovingly (Phil 4:14-20).
- Cheerfulness: It was with joy that Jesus endured the cross (2 Cor 8:9, Heb 12:2) so we contribute with gladness (2 Cor 9:6-7) and eagerness (2 Cor 8:1-4).
