If you grew up in a neighborhood without fences, you likely remember how kids played together across conjoined yards. It was an open adventure. Today, we often build tall wooden barriers around our homes to keep others out. This drift toward privacy and personal protection easily bleeds into our spiritual lives. We build social and religious barriers to keep people at a safe distance.
